Smile!

I came across a myspace blog today in which the author called for anarchy and secession of the current U.S. government. It always amazes me how negative people can be sometimes. This issue for example- if there is no government, who will take all that surplus money from our paychecks to feed into inefficient programs we don't need? Who will protect us from the evils of the world like trans-fats, secondhand smoke, and handguns? Who will "educate" our children 5 days a week, 180 days a year? Who will tell us who is good and who is bad? Where will I get my free condoms and be shown how to use them? Who will force me to save now for when I'm old? People just don't think about these things. Who will monitor the phone lines and the internet for blogs like this? Who will keep our borders strong (oh they don't?). Well, who will ration our chocolate and razors? Who will fight Eurasia (or is it Eastasia?). Who will wake us up on the tele-screen every morning to do our stretches!? These are only a few examples of the many services we have because the American government is strongly in place and functioning. Let's give them a break for once. If you see a federal politician on the street, smile big, shake his hand, tell him he's doing a good job.I'm still working on my letter to America which I began on July 4th...
