1. Japan’s Automated Underground Bike Storage. In extremely crowded cities, even bike parking is hard to come by or takes up a lot of street-level space. This huge underground cylinder stores and retrieves bikes much like a Redbox or vending machine. The above link has a great video demonstration.
2. Programmable fountain: Using a technology similar to inkjet printing, this waterfall creates pictures and tells time through drops of water and the absence of those drops.
3. Blimps for Wifi: Search giant Google is intending to build huge wireless networks across Africa and Asia, using high-altitude balloons and blimps.
